NMSU is committed to making reasonable religious accommodations for employees and student employees. Religious accommodations are granted for:
“all aspects of religious observance and practices, as well as belief, unless an employer demonstrates that he is unable to reasonably accommodate an employee’s or prospective employee’s religious observance or practice without undue hardship on the conduct of the employer’s business.”
Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, as amended.
Employees and student employees may request reasonable accommodation for their religious beliefs by completing the Request for Religious Accommodation form and submitting it to their supervisors or managers. The supervisor will then work with the Accessibility and Affirmative Action Officer to determine if an accommodation will be granted and what the accommodation will be.
The university has complaint procedures that provide prompt and equitable resolution of complaints about the denial of requested accommodations.
