Accommodations (Religious)

NMSU is committed to making reasonable religious accommodations for employees and student employees. Religious accommodations are granted for:

“all aspects of religious observance and practices, as well as belief, unless an employer demonstrates that he is unable to reasonably accommodate an employee’s or prospective employee’s religious observance or practice without undue hardship on the conduct of the employer’s business.”

Employees and student employees may request reasonable accommodation for their religious beliefs by completing the Request for Religious Accommodation form. Upon receipt, OIE will contact both the employee and their direct supervisor or manager. OIE will review the request, as well as any concerns, and will issue a decision. If granted, an accommodation agreement will be issued by OIE.

Upon receipt, OIE will review the request and will issue a decision. If granted, an accommodation agreement will be issued by OIE and the student is responsible for notifying the student’s professors/instructors of their accommodation before or upon commencement of classes or instruction.
