Carlos Dominguez

Carlos Dominguez joined the Office of Institutional Equity at New Mexico State university in the summer of 2025, bringing with him over a decade of investigative expertise and leadership in handling complex, high-stakes cases. 

Carlos has worked acrosss law enforcement, military service, and federal agaencies building a solid reputation for thorough investigations, respectful and trauma-informed interviews, and effective teamwork. He's led complex, sensitive cases involving sexual misconduct, discriminaiton, harassment, fraud, institutional misconduct, and equity-related concerns. Throughout his career, Carlos received multiple accolades and awards in recoginition of his investigative excellence, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the public. 

Carlos is trained in forensic interviewing, serious incident investigations, and corporate compliance. His background in legal research, evidence collection, and behavioral analysis makes him a valuable part of the team working to support equity and integrity across the institution. He brings strong analytical skills and a deep commitment to fairness and accountability to his role at the Office of Institutional Equity.

He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), graduating with honors. In recognition of his exemplary academic performance and leadership he was named a UTEP 21st Century Scholar.

Beyond his professional life, Carlos enjoys spending time with his family, caring for his farm, and horseback riding. He also serves his community as a youth basketball coach, mentoring young athletes and promoting teamwork, discipline, and personal growth.
