Accommodations (Disability)

New Mexico State University is dedicated to providing reasonable accommodation to qualified university employees and applicants for positions in accordance with state and federal laws. Qualified individuals with disabilities are protected from discrimination in hiring, promotion, discharge, pay, job training, fringe benefits, and other aspects of employment. University employees covered under NMSU policy are regular faculty and staff as well as all student employees. NMSU Administrative Rules and Procedures, Rule 3.40, Process for Disability Accommodation.

NMSU also provides reasonable accommodation for temporary impairments, such as those that may result from pregnancy. The accommodation process begins when an employee (or applicant) communicates the need for accommodation. The completion of the Petition for Accommodation Form facilitates the initiation of the accommodation process.
